What type of facility is this?

A Home Away From Home is an assisted living / residential care facility. We are a non-medical facility that provides room, board, housekeeping, supervision, and personal care assistance with basic activities like personal hygiene, dressing, eating, and walking.

 

What types of conditions / situations does your facility service?

A Home Away From Home provides services for the following conditions:

  • Developmentally Disabled
  • Alzheimer’s Disease / Dementia
  • Incontinence
  • Wheelchair bound
  • Other neurological conditions (Parkinson’s, Epilepsy)

 

What is the staff: patient ratio?

The staff to patient ratio is 2:3. The staff consists of Certified Nurses Assistants and a Registered Nurse. There will be a Registered Nurse on call at all times. Certified Nurses Assistants will provide the daily assistance for basic activities.

 

How big are the rooms?

The rooms are 100 square feet. Both private and shared rooms are available.

 

How are the meals set up and who prepares the meals?

The meals are prepared on site by the staff. Residents will receive three meals per day and have the option to eat together in the community dining room. In-room dining service is offered as well.

 

What activities are available to residents?

Social activities, such as Bingo, board games, movies, cards are available to residents. Transportation to social outings is also provided.

 

What therapies are available?

Physical therapy and occupational therapy is provided.

 

What furnishings will be provided? 

A Home Away From Home provides its residents with a bed, dresser, fridge, microwave, television, cable and phone.

 

What forms of payment are accepted? 

A Home Away From Home accepts all forms of payment, including Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance and private pay.
